about genevieve

Genevieve Wilson (she/her) is a theatre Director based in Brooklyn, specializing in new work, plays, and contemporary musicals. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, she brings a background in music directing, composition, and classical & jazz piano, which informs her collaborative and ensemble-driven process.

She is the art director and production designer for D!SoRd3rEd, Corey Allen's experimental short film, now midway through a nineteen-festival run, where her work earned a Best Production Design nomination at the Huntington Beach Cultural Film Festival.

She recently directed the Off-Broadway production of Skin: A New Musical by Andrew Strano and Yuriko Shibata. Other work includes Mini Me, Methods in Madness, the New York City premiere of Bubble Boy, Single Asian Female, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, [title of show], and Are We Okay?

Genevieve is passionate about collaborating with driven and creative artists to tell stories for and about women, amplify authentic queer voices, and explore bold, thought-provoking ideas through music and theatre.
